When Parmesan cheese melts, it becomes a smooth and rich creamy sauce that parents wonderfully with these fettuccine noodles.

Alfredo in the Instant Pot ingredients

Butter – You can use salted or unsalted butter for this recipe. If you use salted, you can omit the salt to avoid making it too salty.

Minced garlic – This can be found in a jar in the produce section. You can also use fresh garlic and mince it yourself.

Heavy cream – Heavy cream is what makes this Alfredo so creamy and delicious. You can use regular milk in a pinch, but your Alfredo sauce will be thinner.

Parmesan – I used grated Parmesan from the can and shredded Parmesan from the bag. Both help to create the flavor of this sauce.

How to make fettuccine Alfredo in the instant pot

As I have said above, this is a pretty quick recipe. All together, you’re looking at a cook time of probably about 12 minutes. If you need to double the recipe, you will probably have to do one batch and then do a second to make sure it all fits in your instant pot. Here’s what you do:

Step 1: Place pasta in the instant pot and fill with water to fully submerge the pasta. Close the lid and close the pressure valve. Pressure cook for 7 minutes. Manually release the pressure when done.

Step 2: Remove and drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 3: Set the instant pot to sauté, add the butter and melt.

Step 4: Once butter is melted add the garlic and cook for 45 seconds. Stir to prevent burning. Add the cream and let it come to a boil

Step 5: Once cream is boiling, add the grated Parmesan and spices. Stir in and cook for 3-5 minutes until desired thickness is achieved.

Step 6: Serve Alfredo sauce I’ve the fettuccine and top with shredded Parmesan.
