Who doesn’t love a good bowl of chicken noodle soup? It’s warm and comforting and perfect for cooler days. With my Instant Pot, I can make homemade Instant Pot Chicken Noodle Soup with minimal effort. Let me show you how to make this easy Instant Pot chicken recipe in under 30 minutes!
Chicken noodle soup is my go to soup recipe during the winter. I know that the kids will eat it and there will be leftovers for the next day. Plus, there is something so comforting about a big hot bowl of soup that warms the soul. If there is ever a question on soup, chicken noodle is the answer.
Why Make Chicken Noodle Soup in the Instant Pot?
I used to make chicken noodle soup in my crockpot. It turned out pretty good. Cooking soup in the crockpot requires taking out your meat the night before and starting it before you leave in the morning. A crockpot needs a good 7 to 8 hours to cook.
The Instant Pot, on the other hand, doesn’t require all that time. In fact, if I forget to pull out my meat the night before, I can cook my chicken in the Instant Pot right from frozen!
So, why cook chicken noodle soup in the Instant Pot?? Because, it’s faster, easier, and packed full of flavor! Dinner is on the table in under 30 minutes and everyone is happy.
What is Soup Setting on Instant Pot?
Your Instant Pot has a variety of pre-set buttons including a soup button. This recipe has you use the manual or pressure cook setting. Here is what the soup button means for each setting:
- Normal Setting: High Pressure 30 mins
- More Setting: High Pressure 40 mins
- Less Setting: High Pressure 20 mins
Since this recipe only needs 7-minutes, you will not need to use the soup button. The soup button will be used for soups that need to cook a little longer.

How Do you Add Flavor to Chicken Noodle Soup?

Side Dishes You Can Serve
This soup is hearty and delicious, but you may want a little more to go along with it. I find that this soup goes well on top of mashed potatoes. Here are some side dishes you can serve with your chicken and noodle soup!
How to Store Leftovers
You can store your leftover soup in a Tupperware bowl in the refrigerator. It can remain in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
Can You Freeze Chicken Noodle Soup
Yes! In fact, chicken noodle soup is one of my favorite freezer meals to prepare. Typically, I will prepare the soup and chicken and leave the noodles out when freezing. When I thaw it to cook, I will add the noodles. I find that freezing it and re-cooking it allows the seasoning to really come out, and the soup tastes even better.
To store your soup in the freezer, you will want to put it in a Tupperware bowl and then put the bowl into a freezer bag. Or, you can pour your soup into the freezer bag. Make sure the soup is cool before putting it in the freezer.
